Stormwater Runoff

A growing area of concern is the runoff from streets, highways and parking lots. This runoff is frequently contaminated with fuel, oil, rubber, various suspended solids and chemicals. Cites around the world more and more are requiring that this runoff be treated before it reaches municipal storm drains or nearby watercourses. Kickuth BioReactor systems currently treat surface runoff at, among other places, the Potsdalmer Platz in Berlin; the new world headquarters of Mercedes-Benz. In addition, beds were completed during the summer of 1998 to treat runoff from German autobahns.
