Domestic Sludge
A major issue that conventional treatment plants have to contend with is the treatment and disposal of sludge, a byproduct of most wastewater treatment processes. Primary and secondary sludge is expensive to de-water and costly to dispose of. Additionally, existing methods of sludge disposal are often not environmentally friendly.
The Kickuth BioReactor process provides an effective, efficient and economical method for the treatment of this sludge. The plants have an exceptional evapotranspiration capability (up to 1800 mm in temperate climates and double that in warmer climates) and this rapidly dehydrates the sludge and produces dry residuals. Experience in Europe has shown that over 2 meters of applied
sludge can be reduced to as little as 20 cm of dry organic material annually.
